So you're trying to play multiplayer or chat with a friend but you get the warning that your NAT is strict and can not connect or your connection is limited.
Let me first tell you this is NOT an issue with your XBOX but an issue with your Router. Having a Strict or Closed NAT has to do with settings in your router. Because of the nature of how to Open NAT the best help I can give is to give you some resources to get your NAT Open. Ultimately it's up to you to figure out how to get into your router settings, your first step should be to GOOGLE "your router maker & model + Open NAT"
What is NAT you ask?
"Short for Network Address Translation, an Internet standard that enables a local-area network (LAN) to use one set of IP addresses for internal traffic and a second set of addresses for external traffic. A NAT boxlocated where the LAN meets the Internet makes all necessary IP address translations.
NAT serves three main purposes:
- Provides a type of firewall (security) by hiding internal IP addresses
- Enables network to use more internal IP addresses. Since they're used internally only, there's no possibility of conflict with IP addresses used by other networks
- Allows a network to combine multiple connections into a single Internet connection. (connect more than one device to your network)"
Resources to open NAT works for both consoles
Some time just resetting your router will reset your NAT try that if it does not do the trick
Use the official Microsoft NAT Troubleshooter: http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/networking/nat-error-solution. If that does work try port forwarding, it's complicated and I'm not going to explain that here bit to do here: Xbox 360 Port Forwarding & Xbox ONE Port Forwarding.
A good tutorial for the Xbox One: http://techbits.io/how-to-fix-xbox-one-multiplayer-chat-nat-issues/
