Welcome to XboxIssues

Welcome. I decided to make this blog after being a Xbox Ambassador for a number of years.

If you don't know an Ambassador is a Volunteer that Microsoft uses to help ease the load on the actual hard working support people.

I noticed that alot of the questions I would get could easily be solved by using Microsofts Xbox.com site.

Since some of the help articles may be hard to find, understand or the issue may be called something different in the gaming community making it more difficult to solve, I've decided to make this blog to make it easier for fellow gamers to get xbox assistance, news and all things Xbox.

If you have any Xbox related question you can find the answer to feel free to contact me on YouTube, twitter or in the comments.

BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE: Five Xbox 360 Games WereMade Backwards Compatible Today

After another long period without Backwards Compatible Games, Microsoft has bestowed on us five more Xbox 360 games playable on the Xbox One via Backwards Compatibility.

Left 4 Dead, Portal 2, Flashback, Babel Rising & Brain Challenge are all coming to Xbox One Backwards Compatibility today.

*As always, those that own these games digitally will be able to download them again for free from the "Ready to Download" section of the Xbox One. If you own Alan Wake on disc, you can also put this in and the necessary files required to make it work will be downloaded.

From Valve® — creators of Counter-Strike®, Half-Life®, Portal™ and Team Fortress® — Left 4 Dead™ is a new game that casts up to four "Survivors" in an epic struggle against hordes of swarming zombies and terrifying "Boss Infected" mutants. Are you ready for the Zombie Apocalypse?

The highly anticipated sequel to 2007's Game of the Year, Portal 2 is a hilariously mind-bending adventure that challenges you to use wits over weaponry in a funhouse of diabolical science. Using a highly experimental portal device, you’ll once again face off against a lethally inventive, power-mad A.I. named GLaDOS. Break the laws of spatial physics in ways you never thought possible, with a wider variety of portal puzzles and an expansive story that spans a single player and co-op game mode.

Take on the role of Conrad B. Hart of the G.B.I. and uncover a vast and deadly alien conspiracy that threatens everything it means to be human. But before you can save the human race you must rediscover who you are, as you desperately search for the missing data files containing your memory to piece the puzzle together. 20 years after the original game’s launch, Conrad is enlisted back to active service for the triumphant return of one of the best adventure-action games ever created. It’s Flashback re-imagined by its creators.

Babel Rising lets you play as a God and use your powers to prevent humans from building the tower of Babel. Hurl bolts of lightning, cause massive earthquakes, or unleash gigantic floods upon the Babylonians. Face a wide range of challenging enemies and levels and use Kinect to get a unique feeling of power!

Ready to start down the road to excellent mental fitness? Upgrade to the full version of Brain Challenge™ to unlock twenty different mini-games in five brain-building categories. Daily exercises challenge you to increase your mental capacity: they never repeat, and the better you do, the harder they get! Challenge your brain, monitor your progress, and watch your mental capacity grow!

E3 NEWS: Microsoft announces a new super-powered Xbox console: Project Scorpio

Microsoft showed off a video in which a number of developers touted the console's massive power -- it'll feature "true" 4K resolution, 6 teraflops of GPU power and will run at 60Hz. It'll of course be VR-ready, and Bethesda noted it'll run Fallout 4 in VR, as announced last night. While Microsoft didn't mention Oculus by name, the two companies have a partnership that was announced at last year's E3. So it seems highly likely that the Rift will be the headset of choice for Project Scorpio.

Phil Spencer alluded to such a development earlier this year, saying that he envisioned a future in which your game library stayed with you and in which consoles were upgraded faster in a more PC-like fashion.

Naturally, there's no word on price yet, and we're guessing Project Scorpio won't be the console's launch name. But Microsoft's biggest fans clearly have a lot to look forward to in the coming year or so -- the big question for those who don't own an Xbox will be whether to buy a Xbox One S, or wait until next year for Project Scorpio. But at least if you buy the One S, all your games will work if you upgrade to Scorpio.

NEWS E3: Xbox One is getting a 'Looking for Group' feature

Later this year, Xbox Live will make it easier for Xbox One players to seek out others. Microsoft is adding the oft-requested "Looking for Group" (LFG) feature to the platform and I'm pretty sure 98 percent of the folks cheering during the E3 presser reveal were Destiny players. It's a good get!

Xbox Live is also going to introduce Clubs (groups that like-minded players can mingle in) and Arena (a tournament platform for games). Arena has support lined up from companies like Hi-Rez, Wargaming, and Daybreak, with FIFA tournaments happening "in the coming years."

Mike Ybarra, director of program management at Xbox, also noted that Microsoft is moving servers "closer to where gamers are" for a faster, more reliable network. We've also got the voice assistant Cortana, background music support, and language region independence coming up on Xbox One this year.

NEWS E3: Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Free with Backwards Compatibility for Gold Members

In preparation for Tekken 7, it was announced that starting some time today Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will be backwards compatible on Xbox One and Free for Gold Members.

The game will remain free to download for the next week for Xbox Live Gold members.

*As always, those that own these games digitally will be able to download them again for free from the "Ready to Download" section of the Xbox One. If you own Alan Wake on disc, you can also put this in and the necessary files required to make it work will be downloaded.

NEWS E3: Xbox Play Anywhere will let you play Gears of War 4 across Xbox One and PC

Gears of War co-creator Rod Fergusson took to the stage at Microsoft's E3 conference to announce that the Coalition's Gears of War 4 will be part of the new Xbox Play Anywhere initiative, letting players seamlessly move between Xbox One and PC versions of the game.

Players will be given both versions of the game, and progression will carry over on both systems. Not only that, but every co-operative mode will have cross-play support, meaning Xbox One and PC players can play the game together.

Right now, the Xbox Play Anywhere initiative has only been announced for Gears of War 4, but I won't be surprised at all if more games are announced for it very soon.

The Coalition also gave us some fancy new Gears of War 4 gameplay footage, which we will update to include here as soon as it becomes available.

NEWS E3: Microsoft officially announces the Xbox One S, starts at $299

The rumors were true, sort of No we did not get an Xbox One.5 as the crazy internet trolls were fear mongering and this console generation is not ending for new consoles. As I expected:

Today at E3 Microsoft announced the new Xbox One S model, which basically amounts to a slim. It's smaller, sports an "up to" 2TB HDD, has a new controller with a textured grip (like the Elite) and increased range, and can support 4K video (Not games). It'll be
out in August.

UPDATE: MS announced Project Scorpio
