You may have finished the single-player. But that’s only half the game. May 1 – 3 we’re unlocking Xbox Live Gold to give you the chance to play multiplayer in your favorite Xbox 360 games. Simply get online during the Free Multiplayer Weekend and fight side-by-side with new friends and allies.

The Xbox Live multiplayer service will be unlocked during Free Multiplayer Weekend, which will take place on Xbox Live from 12:00 A.M. PST on May 1, 2015 to 11:59 P.M. PST on May 3, 2015. Open only to users with an account on Xbox Live (a Gold membership isn’t required to participate). Multiplayer unlock not available in all games. Games sold separately. See www.xbox.com/Live.

UPDATE: Xbox 360 System Update adds Support for 2TB Hard Drives

The Xbox 360 received a system update today implementing a number of features showcased to Xbox 360 Preview program members earlier this month including one of the most requested features voted on at the Xbox Feedback website for larger external storage for the Xbox 360. Today’s update includes this feature and more.

Larger external USB hard drives – Plug in any external USB hard drive up to 2 TB to store your Xbox 360 downloads, profile, saved games, and other data.

Purchase history – To view your recent purchases, go to Settings > Account >Purchase History.

Password reset - You can now reset your password by selecting Forgot your password? at sign-in.

Network statistics - View download speed, upload speed, and signal strength, go to Settings> System > Network Settings. Select your network, and then choose Network Statistics.

See your money - Your Microsoft account balance now appears in the top-right corner of the Xbox Dashboard. To turn it off, go to Settings > Profile > Account Security.

Freebies: Xbox Live Games with Gold for May 2015

For the month of May, Xbox Live Gold members will receive three new free games on Xbox One and Xbox 360 as part of the Games with Gold program.


On Xbox One, Xbox Live Gold members can download CastleStorm: Definitive Edition ($14.99 ERP) for free during the month of May. Pool Nation FX ($13.99 ERP) is also being offered for an additional month.

On Xbox 360, starting Friday, May 1st, Mafia II ($19.99 ERP) will be free for Xbox Live Gold members through May 15th. Then on May 16th, Xbox Live Gold Members can download F1 2013 ($39.99 ERP) for free through May 31st.
