Welcome to XboxIssues

Welcome. I decided to make this blog after being a Xbox Ambassador for a number of years.

If you don't know an Ambassador is a Volunteer that Microsoft uses to help ease the load on the actual hard working support people.

I noticed that alot of the questions I would get could easily be solved by using Microsofts Xbox.com site.

Since some of the help articles may be hard to find, understand or the issue may be called something different in the gaming community making it more difficult to solve, I've decided to make this blog to make it easier for fellow gamers to get xbox assistance, news and all things Xbox.

If you have any Xbox related question you can find the answer to feel free to contact me on YouTube, twitter or in the comments.

NEWS: Project xCloud: Stream Xbox Games to Any Device

Today you can play three generations of amazing games on Xbox One. That means that Project xCloud has the technical capability to stream more than 3,500 games, without any changes or modifications required by a developer. In other words, developers will be able to dramatically scale their existing games across devices, with no additional development, no additional code base maintenance and no separate updates. When a developer updates the Xbox One version of their title, those updates will also apply to all versions available on Project xCloud without any additional work.

There are currently more than 1,900 games in development for Xbox One, all of which could run on Project xCloud. Developers creating those games continue working normally – building with the tools they have – while we do the work to make their games accessible to the broadest set of players possible.

UPDATE: Introducing The New Xbox Game Bar

At Xbox, they put gamers at the center of their vision – enabling gamers to play the games they want, with the people they want, and on the devices they want. As part of Microsoft efforts and commitment to improve the gaming experience on Windows 10, Microsoft wants to bring PC players highly requested features based on their feedback. The first step in that is understanding how gamers engage on Windows and making the features and experiences they want easier to access, including social, music, performance and more. Today, we are excited to release a host of new features for PC gamers to the new Xbox Game Bar on updated versions of Windows 10.

Xbox Game Bar is the customizable gaming overlay built into Windows 10. Xbox Game Bar works with nearly all PC games, but may have some compatibility issues with games built using the Vulkan Graphics API. For these games, you may need to run the game in windowed mode in order for Xbox Game Bar to display.

Xbox Game bar gives you instant access to widgets for screen capture and sharing, controlling your music, finding new teammates with Looking for Group (LFG), and chatting with Xbox friends across Xbox console, mobile, and PC—all without leaving your game. You can access these new features by pressing the Windows key and the “G” key at the same time – “Win+G” – to bring up the Xbox Game Bar when playing nearly all PC games or choose your own custom keyboard shortcut.

Here’s a detailed rundown of all the features in Xbox Game Bar:

Spotify
Like many of you, we believe music is a very important part of the gaming experience. Now you can easily control music and podcasts on Spotify from the Spotify widget in the Xbox Game Bar, including favoriting, shuffling and selecting playlists recommended for you by Spotify. You’ll need the Spotify app for Windows installed to take advantage of this new feature, so be sure to get it from the Microsoft Store or Spotify.com.

You can get started in three simple steps:

  1. Press Win+G to bring up Xbox Game Bar
  2. Click on Spotify in the widgets menu
  3. Sign-in to your Spotify account

Want to tweak the volume of that song you just started listening to? Pull up the audio widget in Xbox Game Bar to change volume settings across apps quickly and easily without having to alt-tab out of your game.

Friends, Chat, Mixer, and Looking for Group (LFG)
The social features in Xbox Game Bar allow you to have conversations with friends who play on PC, Xbox One, and mobile, as well as watch their Mixer streams and send them your creations instantly. Players can use the Looking for Group (LFG) feature on Xbox Game Bar to find new teammates or a raid party with a common play style, all without using a third-party site. Gamers can chat with their friends, using voice or text, in Xbox Game Bar across Xbox One, mobile apps, and PC. Conversations are synched on all Xbox apps, so keep chatting after the game to share memes and coordinate your next session.

Press Win+G at any time to bring up Xbox Game Bar, send a quick message, and get back into the action without taking your eyes off the game.

Broadcast & Capture
Back in December, we promised to make it simple to capture your epic gaming moments Currently, you can easily capture and view your gameplay screenshots, then share directly to Twitter without leaving your game.

With today’s update, you can take this a step further by turning your captured screenshots into memes. During your game, hit Win+G to call up Xbox Game Bar, open the Broadcast & Capture widget in the widgets menu, and take a screenshot. Use the Captures widget to add overlay text to your screenshot and make a meme, which you can share with your friends via a message or with the world via Twitter.

Customizable UI
We recognize that customization is central to a rich gaming experience on PC. You can customize Xbox Game Bar to make the overlay your own. You can choose which widgets to show/hide, where you want them located, and pin specific widgets to be always visible. Build your own favorite Xbox Game Bar layout based on the way you prefer to play to enhance your gaming experience.

Metal Gear Survive (May 23)
Create your own character and learn to survive in a strange, alternate Metal Gear universe. Experience the enduring stealth action gameplay of the series, with new elements of exploration and survival. Scavenge resources, craft weapons, build a base camp, and explore the unknown while developing the skills necessary to survive in this hostile environment. Then, in co-op mode, assemble a team of four players to infiltrate and defend areas from hordes of creatures. Place fortifications and strategically place weapons against ever intensifying enemies. Teamwork and resourcefulness are key in these fast-paced co-op missions.

The Banner Saga (May 23)
Pile on your pelts, you’re joining a Viking story where you’re fighting to prevent the world’s end. You not only lead and level up members of your caravan, but you risk their permadeath, and even outright mutiny. Your decisions in combat as well as the journey will affect your personal story, because it’s written by your actions. It’s a recipe to care a lot about your characters, dig deep into Viking ethos, and try to beat the odds. Decide if you’re going to be a benevolent leader of the banner or be one that looks out for only your own.

Void Bastards (May 29)
A revolutionary new strategy-shooter that will test your wits as well as exercise your aim. Can you lead the misfit prisoners of the Void Ark through the derelict spaceships and myriad dangers of the Sargasso Nebula? Will you make the right choices about what to do, where to go and when to fight? Master combat, manage ship controls, scavenge supplies, craft improvised tools and much more!

Dead by Daylight (May 30)
Death is not an escape. Dead by Daylight is a 4 vs 1 multiplayer horror game, where one player takes on the role of the savage killer, and the other four players are survivors, who must escape the killer without getting caught.  That sounds easier than it is, because the Killing Ground environment changes every time you play.

Outer Wilds (May 30)
Explore for the sake of your curiosity with a hand-crafted solar system filled with secrets to discover and perils to avoid while exploring space. Players are given a variety of tools to aid in space-backpacking: including their own spaceship and jetpack; a surveyor probe for scouting and taking pictures; and a signalscope to track down audio signals as well as view landmarks from afar.

Full Metal Furies (June 6)
Defend the free world to save a war-torn world that is battling itself to extinction. Through working as a team to defeat special enemies, you’ll need to string organics combos that will deal massive damage to your enemies. Choose your hero, develop your combat style, and learn special moves that could save the world.

The Banner Saga 2 (June 6)
Continue the Banner Saga! The addition of new classes, as well as the new Horseborn race, give players more choices in the story and in combat. Since the game is story-driven, players will find that their decisions outside of battle affect combat conditions more often in The Banner Saga 2. If you played the first game, you can use your save file to carry your choices over so your favorite members of your Banner will be there.

Superhot (June 6)
Blurring the lines between cautious strategy and unbridled mayhem, SUPERHOT is the FPS in which time moves only when you move. No regenerating health bars. No conveniently placed ammo drops. It’s just you, outnumbered and outgunned, grabbing the weapons of fallen enemies to shoot, slice, and maneuver through a hurricane of slow-motion bullets.
