NEWS: Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone Coming to the Cloud with Game Pass on October 25

We’ve shared our vision to deliver great gaming experiences for players across devices. Today, we’re excited to continue bringing new opportunities to enjoy some of your favorite games wherever you are. We’re thrilled to reveal that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be playable with Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) for Game Pass Ultimate members at launch and will begin rolling out to players on October 25, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. PT. In addition, we’re also bringing Xbox Cloud Gaming support to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone for Game Pass Ultimate members on the same day.

This is a first for the Call of Duty franchise, and a win for the community. Players will be able to access multiple Call of Duty games with Xbox Cloud Gaming for the first time, and Game Pass Ultimate members will be able to enjoy Call of Duty in more places than ever before, including on their consoles, PCs, mobile devices, select Samsung TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Meta Quest devices. This opens up even more ways to play Black Ops 6 starting on day one at launch.

Three Great Call of Duty Experiences with Xbox Cloud Gaming

• Launching on October 25, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is an action thriller set in the early ’90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics. Featuring a mind-bending narrative that is signature Black Ops; Black Ops 6 also provides adrenaline-pumping Multiplayer action and the return of Round-Based Zombies. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies. • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will also be available with Xbox Cloud Gaming for Game Pass Ultimate members starting October 25, 2024. Modern Warfare III launched with Game Pass in July 2024 and delivered a single player Campaign, Multiplayer mode, and an open world Zombies experience. Modern Warfare III gives fans access to a full package of incredible content, including a variety of post-launch content.
• Call of Duty: Warzone is a massively popular free-to-play battle royale experience. Team up, drop in or fly in solo to be the last squad standing to win. Play a variety of game modes including special limited-time modes with friends throughout the year. Game Pass Ultimate members will be able to experience massive battles via streaming with Xbox Cloud Gaming starting October 25, 2024.

NEWS: Xbox Gaming Coming to Amazon Fire TV

At Xbox, we’re committed to bringing the joy and community of gaming to everyone.  Today, we’re announcing a collaboration with Amazon where Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members in over 25 countries can play games directly from the Xbox app on select Fire TV devices via cloud gaming, giving people even more choice in how they play their favorite games.

The Xbox app will soon be available on the Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2023) ($59.99) and Fire TV Stick 4K (2023) ($49.99). For people new to console gaming, or for those looking for another way to play, it’s a great low-cost, convenient, and portable option to enjoy a huge library of incredible games.

To get started, players just need a Fire TV Stick, a Bluetooth-enabled wireless controller, and an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership to gain instant access to hundreds of phenomenal games, including Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, Starfield, and Forza Horizon 5, among others.

Plus, Bethesda Game Studios’ beloved Fallout games are also available with Game Pass Ultimate, including Fallout 76 and Fallout 4. Fallout fans will be able to play these games on select Amazon Fire TV devices alongside the acclaimed Fallout TV show on Prime Video, which released in April.

NEWS: Xbox Touch Controls on Mobile Streaming (xCloud) Come to More Games

Xbox’s vision for cloud gaming is to provide you with choice in how and when you play games. Last month, we shared that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members in 22 countries can play more than 100 games on their Android mobile phones and tablets via the cloud. Xbox touch controls unlock new ways to jump in and play and we are excited to announce that there are 10 additional titles available with Xbox touch controls in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate starting today.

And as we bring cloud gaming to Android devices, we have continued to look at how we can create more native experience so that you can jump right in and play. With Minecraft Dungeons we launched our first game with touch controls, and your reaction blew us away. So today we’re making 10 more games available that play great on Android mobile devices – no controller required.

Touch controls have been one of the top-requested features for cloud gaming, so to build this collection we worked closely with players and game designers to create a familiar experience, and support a level of play that you’re used to with a physical controller. For each title that uses Xbox touch controls we’ve worked to create an experience designed specifically for that game on mobile devices.

Our vision for Project xCloud is to empower the gamers of the world to play the games they want, with the people they want, anywhere they want. We’re building this technology so gamers can decide when and how they play. Customers around the world love the immersive content from Xbox in their homes and we want to bring that experience to all of your mobile devices.

Since announcing Project xCloud just under a year ago, we’ve been on a journey to create, develop, and prepare the technology for gamers. A big step for us was opening up the program to Microsoft employees – since then I’ve enjoyed seeing people’s excitement and hearing the stories of how they play. At home, I’ve been using Project xCloud to play Sea of Thieves with my kids while they’re playing on the console and PC. Around the office, I’ve seen our team having an amazing time playing Halo 5: Guardians tournaments and Gears 5 campaign on nothing more than a phone or tablet. We saw the same joy of gaming as we shared the experience with fans at E3 and gamescom, and now we’re ready for what’s next.

Today we’re inviting the community to take the next step with us and join the Project xCloud (Preview), coming this October to the United States, United Kingdom and Korea.

Public preview is a critical phase in our multi-year ambition to deliver game streaming globally at the scale and quality of experience that the gaming community deserves and expects. It’s time to put Project xCloud to the test in a broader capacity, with a range of gamers, devices, network environments and real-world use-case scenarios, and this is where you come in. At Xbox, we’ve made it a priority to engage with all of you to help in the creation process. NEWS: Project xCloud: Stream Xbox Games to Any Device

Today you can play three generations of amazing games on Xbox One. That means that Project xCloud has the technical capability to stream more than 3,500 games, without any changes or modifications required by a developer. In other words, developers will be able to dramatically scale their existing games across devices, with no additional development, no additional code base maintenance and no separate updates. When a developer updates the Xbox One version of their title, those updates will also apply to all versions available on Project xCloud without any additional work.

There are currently more than 1,900 games in development for Xbox One, all of which could run on Project xCloud. Developers creating those games continue working normally – building with the tools they have – while we do the work to make their games accessible to the broadest set of players possible.
