Welcome to XboxIssues

Welcome. I decided to make this blog after being a Xbox Ambassador for a number of years.

If you don't know an Ambassador is a Volunteer that Microsoft uses to help ease the load on the actual hard working support people.

I noticed that alot of the questions I would get could easily be solved by using Microsofts Xbox.com site.

Since some of the help articles may be hard to find, understand or the issue may be called something different in the gaming community making it more difficult to solve, I've decided to make this blog to make it easier for fellow gamers to get xbox assistance, news and all things Xbox.

If you have any Xbox related question you can find the answer to feel free to contact me on YouTube, twitter or in the comments.

YSK: You can play original Xbox games on an Xbox 360

Even though the current generation of consoles (Xbox One, PS4) can not play games from previous generations (Xbox 360, Ps3).

You should know that the Xbox 360 can play the some discs from the Original xbox.  Just pop the Original Xbox Game in to the 360.

There is a catch though.  There is a list of support games, not all Original Xbox games will run.  Support for backwards compatibility actually ended in November 2007.

For this to work you MUST have an Official Microsoft hard drive in your 360.  If you have the 4GB model it's no go (the 4GB models actually do no have a HD but instead use flash memory).

Notes

  • If you’re not able to play a game listed below, try updating your console software.
  • Game saves from an original Xbox console can’t be transferred to an Xbox 360 console.
  • Xbox Live functionality for original Xbox games has been discontinued. You can, however, set up a system link between original Xbox and Xbox 360 consoles. Learn how to connect consoles for system link play.
  • For information about troubleshooting game issues and errors, see the game manufacturer’s support website.

Note This is a list of titles that have been certified for compatibility with Xbox 360. The list is provided for informational purposes only and is subject to change without notice. To ensure the highest quality gaming experience, in the event that an unforeseen technical issue is discovered after certification is completed, Microsoft reserves the right to remove any game name from this list.

UPDATE: Xbox One May System Update

Thanks to your continued feedback, a new month means we get to deliver a new set of fan-requested features on Xbox One. We’re streamlining your gaming experiences even more this time around, whether you’re looking for an easier way to power up the console or connect with distant friends in real time through voice messaging.

Let’s dive into the full list of features rolling out today in the May system update:

Voice Messages – You can now send and receive voice messages from the Xbox One messages app. This is the No. 1 feature requested in the Friends and Parties area on the Xbox Feedback site > “Add audio message …”
Power On/Off from Xbox One SmartGlass – The Xbox One SmartGlass app for Windows, Windows Phone, iOS and Android are being updated to let you power your Xbox One on and off when your devices are on the same home network as your console.

User Selectable Power Mode – We are also altering the initial setup experience on Xbox One worldwide to enable you to select your preferred power mode between Instant-on or Energy-saving mode.

Dedicated Servers for Party Chat – We will start to expand the availability of the party chat relay services beyond preview members to a broader audience as we continue to fine tune the feature and scale out the servers needed to support party chat relay services.
