Welcome. I decided to make this blog after being a Xbox Ambassador for a number of years.

If you don't know an Ambassador is a Volunteer that Microsoft uses to help ease the load on the actual hard working support people.

I noticed that alot of the questions I would get could easily be solved by using Microsofts Xbox.com site.

Since some of the help articles may be hard to find, understand or the issue may be called something different in the gaming community making it more difficult to solve, I've decided to make this blog to make it easier for fellow gamers to get xbox assistance, news and all things Xbox.

HOW TO: Install Universal Windows (UWP) Apps On Xbox One

Since the Anniversary Update on the Xbox One, we no have to ability to use Universal Windows Apps on the Xbox One.

There are not many available to the Xbox One yet (developers can you get on that), and the cross platform apps do not appear in the Xbox Store yet either. So how do I use them on my Xbox One you ask?

Here is How TO: Install Universal Windows (UWP) Apps On Xbox One.


Requirements:

  • PC Running the latest version (Anniversary update or newer of Windows 10 
  • Xbox One

1. On your PC load the Windows App Store
2. Find an App you wish to use on your Xbox One
3. Click the app icon, look in the "Available On" section, make sure Xbox One is listed

4. Click Free or Install (This will install on your PC, you can uninstall later)
5. Head over to your Xbox One
6. Go to My Games and Apps
7. Select "Ready To Install", On the top change the sort to Apps.
8. Select the App you just installed on your PC
9. After the app installed it can be found in the My Games and Apps Section, just like a regular Xbox One game or app.
