At Microsoft's E3 press conference, Howard announced that Fallout 4 mods made on PC would be downloadable on Xbox One. Unless Sony follows suit with this, it definitely looks like Xbox is the way to go among the consoles.
Another tidbit mentioned during the presentation was that Fallout 3 would be included with purchases of Fallout 4. For someone like me who hasn't yet dove into the series, this is looking more and more like a good starting point. The announcement was made for Xbox One, pairing with the backward compatibility announcement. We have reached out to Bethesda to see if the offer applies to PlayStation 4 as well.
Additionally, Xbox One copies of Fallout 4 will come with Fallout 3, Microsoft announced.
